Hundreds of professionals gathered at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville this week to discuss ways to better protect Kentucky children from child abuse.

Georgia’s 2023 Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect: From Prevention to Intervention, “Thriving Families: That’s Our Why,” is this year’s theme, and it is being held at the Hilton Peachtree City Conference Center. Join professionals from across the state for innovative workshops regarding prevention, intervention, and the treatment of children and families impacted by child maltreatment.

Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is introducing the Thriving Families campaign. Thriving Families is made up of multiple projects in the child welfare space that focus on preventing out-of-home placements, supporting families so children and youth remain safely at home or with kin, and ensuring placements are safe, stable, and support permanency.

As a result of the Fair Start for Kids Act, DCYF has partnered with the Washington Health Benefits Exchange (WAHBE). Fifty-seven percent of all interested individuals who have contacted WAHBE have been connected with no-cost or low-cost health insurance.
