Because Childhood Lasts a Lifetime.

Public Awareness & Engagement

We believe that great communications can change lives. At Prevent Child Abuse America, we communicate via a wide range of integrated public awareness and engagement efforts to help ensure the safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and environments that enable children and families to thrive.

Raising public awareness and engagement is integral to increasing individual and community support, mobilizing resources and knowledge sharing, and ultimately stimulating meaningful action across the nation. Moreover, activating public opinion is a powerful tool for influencing the decisions of federal, state, and local lawmakers and representatives, all of whom can shape family friendly public policies.

Our awareness and engagement-raising efforts include developing integrated brand and messaging campaigns, creating easy-to-use advocacy toolkits, organizing Pinwheels for Prevention® gardens, issuing press releases and working with the media to place stories in high-profile publications, and disseminating impactful research and reports, among many others.

We also recognize that prevention happens in partnership, and we work closely with our state chapter network, Healthy Families America affiliates, sorority partners, and national coalition of collaborators to vastly amplify powerful and persuasive messages that help prevent child abuse and neglect before it happens.
