2022-2024 Federal Policy Agenda
Prevent Child Abuse America® (PCA America) advocates for policies and services that strengthen families and communities, promote healthy child development, and prevent child abuse and neglect before it occurs.
Since 1972, Prevent Child Abuse America has defined the national approach to child neglect and abuse.
Melissa T. Merrick, PhD, is President and CEO of Prevent Child Abuse America (PCA America), the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit organization dedicated to the primary prevention of child abuse and neglect.
At Prevent Child Abuse America, we work hard to realize our vision of a world where all children grow up happy, healthy, and prepared to succeed in supportive families and communities.
You can influence public policy. Advocacy happens in many different ways, but at its core advocacy is about raising awareness, building and leveraging relationships, and educating others around the issues and policies that matter to you.
Home Resources Child Tax Credit FAQs
This resource was developed to provide information on the investment in the Child Tax Credit expansion, as well as additional expansions in tax credits for working families, included in the recent pandemic relief measure, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
These temporary investments of expanding these critical tax credits will combat the unacceptably high percentage of American children living in poverty by putting cash directly into the pockets of low-income families.
