Because Childhood Lasts a Lifetime.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) One-Pager

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are events or circumstances that may be traumatic to children during the first 18 years of life.

Examples of ACEs are:

  • Experiencing violence, such as abuse, neglect, or intimate partner violence
  • Living with family members with mental health or substance abuse problems
  • Instability in relationships through parental separation or incarceration

If we ensure every child has safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments, even despite adversity we are setting them up to be healthy and resilient adults.
