Preventing child abuse and neglect before it happens is always an important issue, but it is especially important during an election year.
High-profile national elections present a platform for Prevent Child Abuse America and its nationwide state chapter network to promote effective child abuse and neglect prevention policies and funding to support initiatives that ensure the safe, stable, and nurturing environments which enable children, families, and entire communities to thrive. During this time, we want to draw candidates’ attention to the issue of child abuse and neglect prevention, and the critical importance of supporting families and improving both child and parent well-being.

2020 Presidential Candidate Questionnaire
We are enlisting our partners to collectively “turn up the volume” in the coming weeks and communicate directly with the presidential candidates to request information about their position on family friendly policies such as paid family leave and affordable child care. (Use our 2020 Presidential Candidate Questionnaire to help formulate your questions.) We are also asking our network to tweet the same questions to the moderator of the October 22 presidential debate, NBC’s Kristen Welker, as she will be determining the topics for the debate and presenting them one week before the event.
