At Prevent Child Abuse America, we are continuing to work throughout the COVID-19 crisis to provide the safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and environments that help children succeed and communities thrive:
Healthy Families America (HFA), our signature home visiting program, has been a lifeline for 65,000+ families during the coronavirus outbreak by quickly pivoting from in-person to video and phone visits. Families have been responding positively to these changes, and in some cases, sites have even seen an uptick in enrollment.
Our nationwide state chapter network is rising to the challenge, too. Prevent Child Abuse chapters in Michigan, North Carolina, and other states have developed and widely distributed useful guides for parents, caregivers, and educators in response to COVID-19.
And while our national chapter network and HFA sites are connecting families to critical resources now, we are also dedicated to the recovery: PCA America is working at the state and federal levels to ensure stimulus packages put parents and children first.
