Prevent Child Abuse Michigan

Children Trust Michigan provides financial support, education and resources to our network of partners throughout Michigan that work to prevent child abuse and neglect by strengthening families.

Key Issue Areas

Lead in Abuse Head Trauma (AHT) prevention efforts with the programs Period of Purple Crying and Baby Think It Over.

Participate in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) prevention efforts with the programs Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE) and State Coalition on ACEs.

Lead in Neglect prevention efforts with the program Strengthening Families Program.

Participate in Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) prevention efforts with the program Stewards of Children (Darkness to Light).

Utilizing the Protective Factors Framework through ACEs, Evaluation, and Training.

The chapter works with the following evidence-based home visiting model: Family Resource Centers (FRCs) and participates in the statewide home visiting coalition.

Advocacy efforts include

  • Aligning our new name in all of the statutes that govern CTM
  • Change our bylaws (must be done by legislature) as they have not been updated for 15 years.
  • Funding for FRC's and increasing our trust to 40 million

The chapter partners with businesses/corporations, exchange clubs, faith-based organizations, foundations, Kappa Delta, Kids Count, Law Enforcement, schools, and United Way.
