Prevent Child Abuse America Welcomes Back Elizabeth Solhtalab as Chief Public Policy and Government Relations Officer
Chicago, IL – April 14, 2025 — Prevent Child Abuse America (PCA America) is proud to welcome back Elizabeth Solhtalab as Chief Public Policy and Government Relations Officer. A proven leader in public health and government affairs, Elizabeth brings more than 20 years of experience building strategic partnerships, shaping legislative policy, and driving systems-level change across the public sector.
Elizabeth most recently served as Director of the Office of Budget Policy and Appropriations at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Prior to that role, she was Chief of Policy and Government Relations here at PCA America, where she led key initiatives spanning government relations, state policy, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
Most recently at CDC, Elizabeth played a central role in overseeing the agency’s $9.7 billion budget and formulating strategy for advancing critical public health priorities. She also oversaw CDC’s appropriations activities, work with the Georgia delegation, and partnerships with Georgia-based corporate organizations. Earlier in her CDC career, she was key in advancing the primary prevention of violence, overdose, and suicide, building these programs by over $450 million. Her career also includes leadership in state government, where she worked across public health programs and legislative bodies to improve outcomes for children and families. In addition, Elizabeth served honorably in the United States Air Force, earning multiple medals for her service.
She holds a master’s degree in public administration from Kennesaw State University and a bachelor’s degree in political science and pre-law studies from Georgia State University.
