Moments of Momentum: Highlights from the 2025 Power of Prevention Conference

August 12–14, 2025 • Portland, OR. The Power of Prevention brought leaders across the field—advocates, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners—together to put prevention first. Over three days of keynotes, hands-on workshops, and cross-sector collaboration, we advanced what works: innovative programs, family-centered policy, evidence-based research, and narrative change that moves people to act. It all came together in a shared Blueprint for Family Well-being—a practical roadmap to support families long before crisis and build safer, more nurturing communities for every child.

Key Takeaway:

The Blueprint for Family Well-being

A blueprint built with and for families.

The Blueprint for Family Well-being, formerly known as “A Theory of Change for Primary Prevention in the U.S.“, is more than a vision—it’s a roadmap shaped by the voices of over 1,700 parents, youth, and leaders across our network. Grounded in research and values, it focuses on strengthening the everyday conditions families need to thrive long before a crisis. Since its launch in Baltimore, chapters, affiliates, and partners nationwide have adopted it as their own, using the Blueprint to guide prevention plans, advance policy, and drive measurable progress.

This is not a theory meant to sit on a shelf. It’s a living, adaptable framework that equips communities with tools, data, and strategies to turn good intentions into real impact. From ecosystem pilots to new data dashboards, the Blueprint is helping us build a comprehensive prevention ecosystem—one that ensures every child and family has the chance to live a purposeful, hopeful life.

Key Takeaway:

PCA America Unveils New Tagline

Life is Always in Motion. So is Prevention.

Our new tagline captures the heart of our mission and how we work: prevention begins long before crisis, in life’s everyday decisions, transitions, and turning points. “Every turn” speaks to the constant motion of family life—whether starting or growing a family, facing economic challenges, or seeking support—and underscores our commitment to meet families where they are.

This tagline also connects to our iconic pinwheel: in motion, turning with the wind, a symbol of hope and resilience. By centering families through every turn, we signal a movement that is family-focused, community-rooted, and always working upstream. You’ll see this language and design carried throughout our materials, reflecting a unified vision to create systems that truly value and support families.

Let’s carry this vision forward! Use the tagline, share the message, and help spread a culture of prevention that meets families at every turn.
