Children have tremendous potential – which our society needs – and which we have a shared obligation to foster and protect.
This includes educational opportunities for children in a safe, supportive, and productive school environment for all learners. Prevent Child Abuse America supports policies, systems, and guidelines that promote safe environments in which students’ emotional, physical, and general well-being are protected and promoted. Many children across the academic and developmental spectrum experience abuse, threats of harm, and other adversities while in school. Creating safe school environments for all students by advocating for evidence-based policies and promoting positive social norms is foundational to our comprehensive approach to child abuse prevention.
