Our State Chapters are the lifeblood of our organization, and we are proud to have a network of experts and dedicated advocates on staff in chapters across the country. Recently, one of those staff members were honored with a “Partner in Courage” award and we wanted to add our voice to the chorus of congratulations for Jim McKay.
Since 2005, we have been lucky to count Jim among our network. He first joined our movement as the Development Coordinator for the Prevent Child Abuse West Virginia’s host organization, the West Virginia Children’s Trust Fund, and quickly began making an impact. Today, Jim is the Director of PCA West Virginia and has made such an impact on his state that he was awarded the 2018 Partner With Courage Award from the West Virginia Child Advocacy Network (WVCAN).
In recognizing Jim, WVCAN wrote that “the Partner With Courage award serves to recognize an individual who has volunteered or partnered with the West Virginia Child Advocacy Network and Child Advocacy Centers to aid in their service to children… We cannot think of a more worthy candidate to be this year’s recipient; you have provided immeasurable partnership and leadership in the WV State Task Force on the Prevention of Sexual Abuse of Children.”
At Prevent Child Abuse America, we have seen Jim’s efforts on behalf of children on families in West Virginia firsthand. WVCAN absolutely chose the right person to receive this award. Congratulations, Jim!
