Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center provides survivor-centered intervention, hope, and healing for children and families affected by abuse, trauma, and violence in the District of Columbia, and works to prevent and end child abuse and neglect through promising practices, policies, and partnerships.
Key Issue Areas
Co-lead in Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) prevention efforts with the programs Care for Kids, Stewards of Children (Darkness to Light), and Healthy Relationships Project.
The chapter works with the following evidence-based home visiting models: Early Head Start (Home Visiting), Healthy Families America (HFA), Nurse Family Partnership (NFP), and Parents as Teachers (PAT) and participates in the statewide home visiting coalition.
