To provide resources and training to make certain that every child in Delaware has a safe and nurturing childhood, free from abuse and neglect.

Key Issue Areas

Participates in Abuse Head Trauma (AHT) prevention efforts with the programs Dias Model and All Babies Cry.

Participates in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) prevention efforts with the program Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE).

Leads in Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) prevention efforts and served 40,000 individuals in 2020 with the program Stewards of Children (Darkness to Light).

Utilizing the Protective Factors Framework through Advocacy, Home Visiting, and Training.

The chapter works with the following evidence-based home visiting models: Early Head Start (Home Visiting), Healthy Families America (HFA), Nurse Family Partnership (NFP), and Parents as Teachers (PAT) and participates in the statewide home visiting coalition.

Advocacy efforts include

  • Child sexual abuse prevention
  • Increase family economic supports
  • Support the implementation of the Family First Prevention Services Act
