Reduce Stress During Back-to-School
Back-to-School can be a stressful time—for kids and parents alike. All parents need help or support sometimes. We need to hold grace for ourselves because parenting is stressful—especially during times of transition, like returning to school, when new routines or expenses can be challenging.
Take extra time to manage your own stress
Talk to a trusted person in your life and don’t be afraid to ask for or accept help.
Take time out for something fun or silly with your child– a game outside, reading together.

Help others in your community
Consider some of these actions to help parents in your neighborhood:
Volunteer or support your local Prevent Child Abuse America chapter or Healthy Families America partner site.
Visit PCA America’s Policy Alert site to encourage elected officials to support policies that help families stay out of crisis.
Visit Findhelp.org to locate access to food, housing or other critical resources for those who need it.
Bring a meal to a new mom, offer to babysit, or check in with other parents during times of stress.
Host or contribute to a drive for diapers, food, or clothing.
Volunteer for a local diaper bank, family resource center, or public library.
