Funding for the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program may have expired, but we haven’t given up yet!
Join us for the Home Visiting Coalition’s Day of Action on Wednesday, January 10th to make sure that MIECHV is reauthorized now for five years at no less than its current funding of $400 million annually.
On Wednesday, January 10, we need your help to welcome back Congress. Please call, email and tweet at your senators and representative on Wednesday to urge them to provide children and families with the stability they need and deserve by reauthorizing MIECHV now for five years to avoid negative consequences. Our elected officials need to understand that MIECHV is important to children and families. It expired over 100 days ago and is suffering due to its lapse. MIECHV cannot wait any longer to be renewed.
To get ready, you can look up your senators here and your representative here. To participate on social media, find the Twitter handles of your senators and representatives. It’s also important to make calls to leadership in both the House and Senate. Follow along with the PCA America and Healthy Families America handles by following and retweeting messages from @PCAAmerica and @HFAatPCA, and feel free to download and use any of the social media images here:

P.S.: Mark Tuesday, January 16 on your calendar now for another #RenewMIECHV Day of Action before Congress votes on the next spending package to keep the government’s doors open!
